Phoenix A New Art Gallery Being Built By Judith Neilson

Torvac Solutions has been engaged to provide Fire Hydrants, Fire Sprinklers and Fire Detection systems.

Sydney News: Prominent Sydney Arts philanthropist Judith Neilson has announced the construction of a brand new art-space “Phoenix” in Chippendale, Sydney. Andrew Taylor from the Sydney Morning Herald reported. “A team of architects will create Ms Neilson’s cultural centre, with the gallery designed by John Wardle Architects and occupying the eastern wing, while the performance space will be designed by Durbach Block Jaggers. They will be linked by a garden designed by conceptual artist Janet Laurence. Specialty furniture and joinery in the complex will be created by designer Khai Liew.”

Fun Fact: Sian Johnson from ArchitectureAU  reported that Khai Liew’s team is specifically developing bespoke bricks, named Phoenix, for the building’s facade. They’re currently testing firing temperatures and glazes to come up with a product that represents a “new frontier” in ceramics. We look forward to seeing the results.

The Phoenix project is only a few streets away from the White Rabbit Gallery, a free-entry space funded by the Neilson Foundation that features a large collection of contemporary Chinese art. Torvac Solution has been awarded the contract to install Fire Hydrants, Fire Sprinklers and Fire Detection systems.

Torvac Solutions is honored to be part of this project and we look forward to working with our esteemed partners.
